Creating Web sites for charitable purposes

(ARA) – not only through learning in a classroom. For The Art Institute, is also learning opportunities for students and teachers, their talents and skills outside the classroom, in the Community, to help others.

This year, The Art Institute believes that its second national “webraising event, with schools across North America. Based on the concept of a barnraising where Amish neighbors and build a barn in a day, webraisings build Web sites for nonprofit organizations in a period of 24 hours.

Webraising is only one of dozens of volunteer efforts that some students in 5000 The Art Institute participates in each year and contributes over a quarter of a million hours in the direction of improving the communities in which they live and at school.

For a demonstration webraising, students and teachers of multimedia and Web Design departments of the Technical Institute to work closely with nonprofit organizations several weeks in advance, the implementation of research activities, training on the organization and the population, and the purpose of his website. They work for a period of 8 to 10 hours for the launch of this period.

“Webraisings are a unique opportunity for multimedia and Web Design students, for their capacity to work towards creating a critical marketing and communication tool for these non-profit organizations, who else maybe not afford to create for itself, “said Dr. Ameeta Jadav. Indeed, many students have participated in webraising events, as before, the organization as volunteers and site managers.

For Art Institute of Atlanta student Robert Horton, the experience to help a Web site for a local art has been uniformly positive. “I enjoyed the experience of working with my team members and representatives of the organization,” said Horton. “My participation means a lot to me,” he said, “I’m part of something that is cons. ”
